Skinny Weft™ is installed into your hair in the direction that your natural hair grows. There is no sideways twisting or turning at the root like other methods. Our beaded anchors are securely attached to your natural hair and will lay flat, and hidden underneath the weft at all times. We then use a lock knot stitching technique to secure the wefts onto the beaded anchors.

When referring to a “Braidless Weave” there is no one specific technique that is trademarked and quality controlled pertaining to the application of a “Braidless Weave” technique. Skinny Weft is a step by step method of applying extensions that is trademarked by the specific procedures taken to ensure consistency and quality controlled results. The materials used to apply Skinny Weft are specific to the technique and can make a noticeable difference in the results of the outcome.

Other extension methods can use up to 80% of your hair in the process where Skinny Weft™ only uses up to 10% of your hair, while having the ability to achieve more volume. What is used is mindfully attached providing even weight distribution. This means no matter your natural hair density, we customize your installation taking these specific details into account for a safe installation, at any hair density!

Many other extension methods are painful when newly installed and often cause stress to the scalp or give headaches for days. This stress can cause the scalp to react and become irritated. Skinny Weft™ is applied a ‘safe distance’ from the scalp so it is comfortable and painless even on a new installation. This is the only safe way to attach extensions and prevent traction alopecia.

The beads we use are made of double-lined silicone lined aluminum. They are designed to be smaller and stronger than most other beads, while providing non-slip protection to grip hair securely.

The nylon thread is used to secure the woven hair over the bead anchors. Nylon is a durable, strong, discreet material that does not absorb moisture or odor.

All stylists performing Skinny Weft™ must first become certified. This is to ensure quality control and ensure each stylist is giving you a cohesive result. You can always ask if your Stylist is certified, you can request to see their credentials. If you want to verify if your stylist has been certified, visit our Certified Technician finder on our home page. Our certification training ensures your Skinny Weft™ technician has all of the tools to properly care for your hair for the duration of wear time.

Most types of Hair Extensions require you re-move and re-install every 6-8 weeks which is costly and time consuming! Other methods such as Keratin bonds suggest wearing the extensions for up to 6 months with no maintenance in between. This can lead to client mis-care, scalp erosion and damage. Skinny Weft is a ‘complete system’ which includes procedural steps for installation, monthly maintenance, and removal. Skinny Weft™ was developed over a 10 year period and tested to be safe, efficient and economical on the budget. Our low cost monthly maintenance visits make it cost effective to upkeep! You only need to remove and reinstall every 6 months with proper upkeep.

Skinny Weft™ does not use any glue, braids, tape, adhesive, over direction, or tension in the application process.
